This guide was developed for the US Government under contract by Booz\u00b7Allen and Hamilton, Inc. The project grew out of a concern shared by senior leadership and security professionals within the Intelligence Community that the security risk management process needed to be more clearly defined. The purpose was to establish a process for security specialists and their customers to understand risk management concepts and accomplish risk management tasks in a more efficient and effective manner.<br \/>\nThe concept for this guide was developed after a thorough review was conducted on existing views and current approaches to security risk management.
